What is EPS Pipe Lagging?

Pipe lagging is a special type of insulation fitted around water pipes. This protective pipe insulation layer is built of expanded polystyrene (EPS) due to its beneficial physical and thermal properties.

EPS pipe lagging is widely used to insulate water pipes and ducts by maintaining acceptable temperature control of the flow. The insulation helps save energy and prevent pipes from heat losses, freezing and bursting. Pipe lagging also prevents condensation from forming on cold pipes.

Cost-effective thermal design is among the highest priorities for pipe insulation. EPS pipe lagging is an ideal affordable, durable, and energy efficient solution for pipe insulation applications, with the capability to maintain constant temperature levels from -75oC up to 75oC.

EPS pipe insulation assists with process control, energy conservation, and equipment protection, due to its low K-values for insulation requirements, and lack of long-term R-value loss or thermal drift.

Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) manufactured by the Isowall Group is fast becoming recognized as the insulation material of choice by specifiers of “Bills of Quantities”. This comes largely as a result of our technical knowledge backed up by years of experience in the building and construction industry.

EPS pipe lagging is lightweight with high strength and toxin-free with no CFC, HCFC, HFC, or formaldehyde in its composition. It does not support moisture, mould, bacteria and fungus infection, making it a great choice for pipes and ducts in areas where hygiene is a strict requirement.

EPS pipe sections are extensively used to insulate refrigerant pipes and other MEP lines – Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing. EPS pipe lagging is also suitable for and HVAC projects – heating ventilation and air conditioning systems.

This is because EPS pipe insulation offers a closed cell structure with low thermal conductivity, low permeability to water vapour, and low water absorption.

Isolite EPS pipe lagging is CNC cut to your design requirements. Isolite EPS is available in standard and custom cut profiles to meet every pipe insulation project needs.

Our solution is ideal for low-volume items, providing short lead times from concept to production, and excellent quality and repeatability of design.

Isolite EPS pipe insulation is available in a range of densities necessary to provide energy efficiency, structural integrity and value for money.

The Isowall Group has been manufacturing and distributing Isolite Block Moulded EPS since 1985, and Isolite Shape Moulded EPS since 1992. Isolite EPS products are used primarily for insulation, lightweight fillers and semi-rigid cushioning.

ISOWALL IS THE SUPPLIER OF CHOICE WITHIN AFRICA FOR INSULATED SANDWICH PANEL, EPS AND EPP PRODUCTS.
