Isowall Group has been manufacturing and distributing Isolite block moulded EPS since 1985, and Isolite shape moulded EPS since 1992. This time in the business has allowed Isowall to perfect the products and become experts in the industry, therefore, ensuring high-quality manufacturing for its clients. Both block and shape moulded EPS are extremely useful and beneficial products for organisations to use, however, to ensure that they are choosing the correct product for their specific needs, they need to understand the main differences between the two products.
Block moulded EPS
Block moulded EPS is primarily used for insulation. It can be cut on order using specific machines which ensure excellent product quality and allow for the design to be repeated. With block moulded EPS any 2D shape can be made, if you can draw it, Isowall can cut it, as sheets can be cut to exact specification from the client. This type of moulded EPS can be used for large volume standard-sized sheets for insulation, or it is ideal for low volume packaging pieces where mould costs aren’t warranted.
While block moulded EPS is primarily used for insulation, it can also be utilised for architectural purposes as well as adverts and displays. It can also be used for the insulation of pipes and tanks as lagging of any specified diameter can be cut.
Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) manufactured by the Isowall Group is fast becoming recognized as the insulation material of choice by specifiers of “Bills of Quantities”.
This comes largely as a result of our technical knowledge backed up by years of experience in the building and construction industry.
Shape Moulded EPS
The most significant difference between shape and block moulded EPS, is that shape moulded EPS is manufactured using customised moulds, providing a range of uses. These include insulation, light-weight filter and semi-rigid cushioning. This specific type of moulded EPS is ideal for 3D shapes and high-volume products. This high-insulation value moulded EPS is also extremely clean and hygienic.
This super quality moulded EPS creates high protection packaging and is suitable for production on a JIT (just-in-time) basis.
