Since 1973 Isowall has manufactured insulated composite panels in South Africa.
Our milestones in 45 years of business have proudly set industry trends.
1973 Isowall commissioned a continuous panel making machine at its plant in Silverton, Pretoria, producing and installing expanded polystyrene (EPS) cored sandwich panels for cold stores. The same premises are still occupied by Isowall today.
1985 Isowall starts the in-house manufacture of EPS brand name Isolite (Isolite products are now manufactured country wide).
1990 Isowall Group established overseeing the manufacture and installation of Isowall Sandwich Panels, as well as the manufacture of Isolite EPS products.
1991 The first EPS plant in Natal is established.
1992 Commenced production of Isolite shape moulded EPS products.
1994 EPS plant established in Cape Town.
1998 Introduced mass production of insulated panels with cores of non-combustible Rock Wool (fire rated).
2004 Certified as ISO 9001:2000.
2005 Modern fully automatic panel making plant commissioned, which offers panels with choice of skins, cores, profiles and joints. In the same year an EPP moulding plant was commissioned.
2006 Appointed as a 1st tier supplier to Motor Industry for shape moulded EPP parts
2007 January 2007, the first computer-controlled cutting line in Africa commissioned at new factory in Silverton, Pretoria. World’s most modern computer controlled continuous cutting line for EPS sheets is installed. August 2007, devastating fire destroyed original 1973 premises. Administration moved to new premises (over-the-road). Production shifted between Group facilities – no loss of service to key customers.
2010 Awarded contract for project at Medupi Power Station. Polyurea spray equipment acquired. State of the art boiler installed at shape moulding factory.
2012 Acquisition of Hebcooler EPS Cups and Tubs. Heb machines brought up from Pinetown and installed in new factory premises in Silverton. Isowood Skirting Boards and Dado Rails established as a means to recycle our EPS scrap. Restructuring of Isolite Group.
2013 Ecoboards introduced providing a green and sustainable solution to ceiling boards. IsoTec Training Academy established. Establishment of plant in Eastern Cape with depot in Port Elizabeth. Awarded contact for Kusile Power Station.
2015 Manufacturing of first EPP seat parts in South Africa commences. Warehouse depot established in Natal for Isolite shaped moulded EPP products and Hebcooler EPS Cups and Tubs.
2017 Isowall certified ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015.
2018 Continuous investment in our human resources, new technology, machinery and equipment has ensured the Group’s its longevity and prosperous future.
